Dimofinf Firewall System checks all incoming and outgoing server connections, and stops any destructive or hacking trials.

There are some advices you should follow while connecting to Dimofinf Servers or our hosted sites so your IP does not get banned by the firewall system.

Dimofinf Firewall System ban the connector’s IP in the following cases:

  1. Trying to access password protected directories using invalid login data

Explanation:

IP will be banned after 5 failed logins.

Advices to avoid ban:

Always make sure that you type the username and password for password protected directories correctly, make sure that you didn’t type any spaces, you can password protect directories or change the login data using cPanel, the following link contains visually illustrated tutorial for password protect directories.

  1. Repeated login trials (Brute-force)

Explanation:

Fall under this all failed login trials for all control programs for your site for example: (cPanelSSHDPOP3SMTPFTP)

Advices to avoid ban:

Make sure of typing username and password correctly at login.

  1. Failed login trial to email:

Explanation:

Your IP will be banned after 5 failed login trials.

  1. Failed login trial to FTP:

Explanation:

Your IP will be banned after 5 failed login trials to FTP.

Advices to avoid ban:

Make sure that you type username, hostname and password correctly.

  1. Port Scanning the server:

Explanation:

Your IP will be banned in case you run any port scanner on Dimofinf Servers, also in case of trying to access any closed ports in Dimofinf Servers like 2082, 2086 and 2095

Advices to avoid ban:

In case you have any problem in accessing any port or the control panel, please open a new ticket to our hosting support department to help you.

  1. Hacking or denial of service trials towards Dimofinf Servers

 Dimofinf protection systems follow, check and test all connections to the server software and ports, in case any observation of hacking, penetration or destructive trials towards the server (for example: DoS, SQL Injection, XSS Attack, … etc.) that originated from your IP, it will be automatically banned.

To know the reason or lifting the ban you can open a new ticket to our hosting support department to provide you with the details.

 

Ban Duration:

Ban duration depends on the type of error caused the ban, it can be temporary or permanent ban

Failed login trial: IP ban duration is 3600 Seconds.

Port scanning the server ports: IP ban duration 10800 Seconds

If the ban is permanent, lifting the ban is only possible through our hosting support department team.
