Cache Purge

CloudFlare service cache the static files of your site such as Images, CSS and JavaScript in its information centers and auto distribute it over more than 20 data centers around the world, this is good since it increases the browsing speed, speeds the files loading, also it decreases your monthly used traffic with 50%.

But in some cases it caches some files we already deleted and we don’t want any of our visitors to access it, as an example when a spammer posts inappropriate pictures in your educational site! You deleted the files but they still appear if requested with its direct link because it is still stored in the cache, and since we don’t know the names of all the pictures here we empty the cache completely using “Cache Purge” feature.

Note: Emptying the cache will slow down your site for 2 days, since rebuilding the cache needs at least 2 days to save most of the pictures and distribute them over all CloudFlare information centers, so you should use this feature in the worst cases only. But if you are modifying the site style or similar development tasks you can use “Development Mode” feature instead of emptying the cache completely.

Emptying the cache completely and rebuilding it from scratch

To empty the cache completely login to your site cPanel then press the “CloudFlare” icon as seen in the image

Now choose the site you want to purge its cache, in our example there is only one site named crackrz.com we will press “Statistics and Settings” besides it as seen in the image

The statistics and settings will be displayed press “Click here to purge” and the cache will be emptied completely as seen in the image

Once executed your site cache will be emptied completely, the process could take up to 60 seconds.

Deleting the cache of certain file only

To delete certain file only from the cache login to your account in cloudflare.com, after login and the display of “Websites” page choose from the sites list the site you want to modify then press “CloudFlare settings” as shown in the image

After opening the “CloudFlare settings” page go to the middle of the page where you can find the “Cache Purge” feature then press “Purge single file

Now type the full path of the file, for example

http://www.crackrz.com/style/style.css and press “Purge file

With this the file will be deleted from the cache, the process could take maximum 60 seconds till the file is deleted from all the information centers.
