Comments Plugin

Brief: adding comments is one of the most significant means to share the website comments. It as well helps to increase the traffic rate, so it is worth to use the comments plugin and enjoy its developed features. 

 

Note: Dimofinf CMS provides various types of “comments” plugins such as “General comments plugin”, “Facebook comments plugin” that allows visitors to comment via their facebook accounts, and “Disqus plugin” which allows you to add Disqus comments square and share it on Disqus network. 

You can manage the comment permissions “view, edit, publish” using the membership groups management. As the visitor can add his comment and waits for approval from the admin side. 

 

Firstly: Comments Settings: 

1-Log In to the control panel

2-From the setting list, select (Plugins settings) as the below picture: 

 

3-A list will show up, choose (Banners settings) as shown below: 

The below list will show up: 

General Settings:

-Allow Comments: activate or deactivate this plugin. 

-Modules: if you don’t select certain modules where you want comments plugin to be displayed, the plugin will be displayed in all modules. 

-Enable Replies: press “yes”, so visitors can reply to others comments. 

-Comment Reply Notification: when a visitor adds comment, registering an email address and name is required,so his email address is already existed in the website database. Activate this feature to send a notification to the visitor after replying to his comment. 

-Enable Comment Forms: this feature is used to set the method of displaying the comments block, activate this feature and the icon (add comment) is displayed beneath the content. 

-Activate Abuse Reports: activate or deactivate the feature of allowing visitors to report any improper comments or replies. 

-Abuse Notification: activate this option, so the website admin will receive a notification of the abusing report. 

-Abuse Notification Email: activating the previous option requires an email that receives the notifications. 

-Reporting Reason: enter the reasons why the visitor would report a comment. Add each reason in a seperate line, so it will be shown as a list to the visitor. 

-Maximum Comments Per Page: set the maximum number of allowed comments per page. 

-Minimum Comments To qualify for a "Hot" Icon: set the minimum number of added comments to consider the content as a ho tone, noting that it should be equal or greater than 5. 

-Comments Sorting Order: set the order method whether to add the latest or earlier comments first. 

-Maximum Comment Period : set the period through which the visitors are allowed to comment on the content, and after that the comment are stopped. 

Enter (0) if you want the comments to be opened as long as the content is published on the website. 

-Comments & Replies Auto Update: enter time in seconds to automatically update the comments and replies. It is preferably to set a time that is not less than 30 seconds in order to maintain the website hosting stability. 

-Maximum Comment Characters- -Minimum Comment Characters: set the maximum or minimum number of characters used to add a comment. 

 

Points Settings: 

-Posting a New Comment: the number of points that the user will get after adding a comment. 

-Posting a New Reply: the number of points that the user will get after adding a reply. 

-Agree With a Comment: the number of points that the user will get after pressing (Agree) on any comment. 

-Disagree With a Comment: the number of points that the user will get after pressing (Disagree) on any comment. 

-Disapproval Manifolds: if the manifold of disagreed users exceeds the number of agreed ones, the comment will be disabled. 

Press (Edit Settings) to save. 

 

Secondly: to approve comments, follow the below steps: 

From the control panel< select plugins>comments> then pending comments as the picture below: 

 -A list of modules and plugins that include pending comments will show up with a number of comments to be approved. 

-Press the module r plugin that you want to approve its comments. 

-Select comment that you want to approve and press (Approve selected) or (Delete selected) to remove them. 

-You can edit any comment before being published by pressing it twice. Then press (Submit) to save. 

-You can also edit the comment after being published using the content it self. 

 

Thirdly: To approve pending replies, follow the below steps: 

From the control panel< select plugins>comments> then pending replies as the picture below: 

Follow the same previous mentioned steps to approve comments in order to approve replies as well. 

 

Fourthly: 

When any visitor want to report a comment, he presses the icon (Report), then the template will show up> the visitor add his note and press (submit). 

From the control panel< select plugins>comments> then comments abuse reports to review the reports list as the picture below: 

 A list of modules and plugins that include reports will show up with the number of them.

 

Fifthly: The plugin displaying method on the website: 

The block (comments plugin) can be added to any location on the website using the default layout, for more details, click here 

To activate the feature of (agree) or (disagree) any comment, follow the below path: 

From the control panel> select user group manager> select the required group> then press “edit” and choose the module that you want to edit its feature. The setting is shown as the picture below: 

 

You can as well manage the comments displaying sorting method: 

-latest: displaying the recent added comments firstly. 

-Earlier: displaying the old added comments firstly. 

-Proper: the comments that get (agree) more are displayed firstly.
